ABOUT
Hello! My name is Lisa Claire (she/her) and I am 28 years old. I was born in Elkton, Maryland and lived there until the age of 8 when we moved to Hockessin, Delaware. I attended Ursuline Academy for 1st through 12th grades. After high school, I spent 5 years in Ithaca, New York. After New York, I needed a change in my life so I moved in with a friend in Nashville, Tennessee for a few years. In Nashville, I met my husband while working together at P.F. Chang’s. After moving back to the north to be closer to my family, I decided to go back to school to get a degree in Early Childhood Education.
I have many favorite writers, most are Fiction writers, including, but not limited to: Jane Austen, Jana Deleon, Jasper Fforde, Dan Brown, Jennifer Cruise, Janet Evanovich, Jasmine Guillory, and Taylor Jenkins Reid (I swear I know other authors that names don’t start with J!) While I do not write a lot these days, I have gotten back into reading which I hope will help me to write more and improve my writing.
I don’t usually write much, unless I have some extreme feelings I have to get out. When I do write, it is usually in my journal, by hand. There is something special about handwriting when you really need to get feelings out. Otherwise, most of my writing is done in text messages or professional work emails. I am very much looking forward to expanding my writing habits through this course.
Right now, I write to help focus and understand my feelings that overwhelm me sometimes. It can help to get it out on paper, even if I don’t ever read it again. Earlier in this course, I thought of an answer to one of the Proust questions and wrote it down on a scrap of paper so that I would have it for later! You can get to know me better by viewing my Letter to my Author-Self and The Proust Questionnaire.
